The Rhyme Bible Storybook
(Zonderkidz, 2000)

Author: Linda Sattgast

This Bible was a gift to our family the Easter after our daughter was born. Three years later, it’s a solid family favorite.

It is everything I would ask for in a “first Bible.” The text is engaging, even for a two-year-old (though I have to admit that I’m a sucker for kids’ books with a solid rhythm and fun rhyme scheme); the stories are brief enough to fit one into even a rushed bedtime routine; the illustrations are entertaining enough for kids without being too saccharine for the adult reader; and most importantly, the stories are scripturally sound. It also covers more territory than the typical first Bible – Nehemiah, for instance, doesn’t usually make an appearance, but he’s in here.

If you find yourself looking for a great gift for Easter, Christmas, a Baptism, or a birthday gift from a godparent, I’d recommend taking a look at this Bible storybook.
